Dr. Jan Kors (1958, The Netherlands) obtained his MSc (1983) in Electrical Engineering at the Technical University Delft, and received his PhD (1992, cum laude) from the Erasmus University Rotterdam, for research on knowledge extraction for automated interpretation of electrocardiograms. He is currently Associate Professor in Medical Informatics. His research interests include biosignal analysis and interpretation, machine learning, and more recently, data and text mining for information extraction and knowledge discovery, in particular in the field of molecular biology.
