In 2004 he started working as a Software Engineer in the enterprise software division for Quark Inc. In May 2009 he was the first programmer for the BioAssist Central Engineering Team initiative by NBIC (Netherlands Bioinformatics Centre). His position sponsored by Human Genetics group, LUMC (Leiden University Medical Centre). Since 2009 he has been involved in the BioAssist interoperability task force.
In July 2010 he started as a PhD student within the biosemantics group. His research is aimed at the development of algorithms to help disambiguation in biomedical text. The project is a collaboration between Netherlands Bioinformatics Centre (NBIC) and the department of Medical Informatics at Erasmus MC.
