eTRANSAFE

Comprehensive analysis of correspondence and validity of animal data for human safety

Drug discovery and development is a knowledge-intensive process that can benefit from integrative analysis of different data types, produced by functions within the drug development chain. These integrative approaches can facilitate decision making across the drug discovery and development pipeline, improving lead optimisation and enhancing risk assessment. A pre-requisite for this is the availability of relevant, high quality datasets. However, to maximally leverage these data, important challenges such as encouraging information sharing among competing organisations, or promoting adequate data quality control, standardisation and annotation are required.

 

Past Projects

eTOX

The eTOX project was granted as one of the first IMI projects. It has successfully ended its consortium life after 7 years of collaboration between 13 pharma companies, 11 academia institutions and 6 SMEs.

The eTOX project as IMI consortium has been completed with the accomplishment of an effective synergic sharing of historical toxicological data within the pharmaceutical industry. It created a series of models to support toxicity prediction. Both data and models are integrated in the platform developed in the project, the eTOXsys, which is a powerful system to access the eTOX data and the predictive models.

 

SEMCARE - Semantic Data Platform for Healthcare

SEMCARE aims at building a semantic data platform that can be used for patient identification in clinical studies and for diagnosis support, with a special focus on rare disorders

This project aims at improving the process of chemistry and biological recognition and relation extraction from patents and scientific literature using text-mining approaches.

ADVANCE aims to review, develop and test methods, data sources and procedures which should feed into an efficient and sustainable pan-European framework that can rapidly deliver quantitative data for the assessment of the benefits and risks of vaccines that are on the market.

 

Automatic Construction of Dynamic and Setting-Specific Prediction Rules in Radiology

In this project, we develop a system for the automatic construction and dynamic adaptation of clinical prediction rules.
